Spa Six Hours Endurance Race
The Spa Six Hours is widely considered to be the best historic endurance event of the year and is the race which every competitor looks forward to most. A Six hour endurance for pre-1965 Touring and GT cars held on the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, which undulates for 7 km in length through the Ardennes forest from daylight to dusk and through to nightfall.
This years truly international grid of 110 cars featured some of the most stunning and well prepared machinery, including several Ford GT40's, Shelby Cobra's, Lightweight E-Types, Aston Martin DP 214, Ford Mustangs, MGB's, SWB Porsche 911's and much more.
Gerald Harrison entered the stunning Harrison Collection 1964 Porsche 904 and generously offered to share the drive and split the race with Lee Maxted-Page. Following its post-restoration debut on the Tour Auto earlier this year, Maxted-Page & Prill have maintained the car and prepared it for its maiden entry to the Spa Six Hour race.
The 904 ran absolutely faultlessly thorough the race, completing 98 laps in total and finishing a respectable 26th place overall. You can click on the You Tube link below to see some in car footage.
Our congratulations go to all participants who finished the event and of course its worthy race winners - Christian Glaesel and Ralph Kellners in their Ford GT40 who narrowly beat last years winning GT40 of Simon Hadfield and Loe Voyazides.
